On this page, you’ll find links to various tutorials I’ve written through the years. You can consider this an index to every page shared. A table of contents, if you will. What have I written about? Think photography, videography, cinematography, Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, Premier Pro, Illustrator, Lightroom, DaVinci Resolve, etc… I’ve reached nearly expert level with some of these applications and I do love writing, so it’s my pleasure to share what I’ve learned with you.
Please browse through the headings below. Underneath each heading is a list of links to each tutorial page. I did my best at listing the links in order of how things would be best learned, but at a certain point, the order becomes less important. If you have questions about an application or tutorial, please contact me.
DaVinci Resolve
Davinci Resolve has been around for years. Most of us think of the application as one that merely helps us edit videos, but it’s rich history is full of twists and turns. The program was once sold in separate pieces; a color correction tool, a visual effects tool, and a resolution processing tool. Today, we know Resolve as free video editing software that offers a pro version upgrade for more advanced users (for under $300). If you’re a professional, you’ve most likely upgraded. For the rest of us, the free version is more than enough for our needs.
DaVinci Resolve (by Blackmagic Design) takes some time learn learn. It’s learning curve is slightly steep at first, but levels off quickly. Then it gets steep again to level off again. It’s a feature packed application that offers media management (Media), video editing (Cut & Edit), transitions and effects (Fusion), color correction and manipulation (Color), audio editing (Fairlight), and rendering (Deliver). The application is set up as available pages, so once you understand the workspace and what each page is capable of or responsible for, you can quickly dive in and use the tools to your benefit.
